I’d thought of several different angles to approach taking my 35th birthday portrait. As an aside: As I get older I feel less pretentious saying the word ‘portrait’. At this point I believe it’s what I’m supposed to be saying. Anyway, I had so many plans for this grand portrait and some of them were amazing but when the day came along I simply woke, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and followed the sun to a field. I connected my phone to my DSLR’s wifi and fired off 4 photos. The first photo simply to check that the car was properly in frame. The second and third photos were just me pressing the auto-focus shutter as a I walked back to the car. The 4th is the portrait that you see above. Me. Early. Early into the day.
